2 teens charged with murder after driver of car shot in Goldsboro

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) Police in Goldsboro have charged two teens in connection to a murder earlier this week.

On Tuesday, officers responded to a shots fired call in the 300 block of West Spruce Street.  While searching the area they located a vehicle that had crashed into a parked vehicle in the 200 Block of West Spruce Street.

Inside of the vehicle they located a black male that was unresponsive. Wayne County EMS responded and pronounced the victim dead. The victim appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound. The investigations division responded and took over the investigation. The victim was identified as Abdullah Ali Whitaker, 32 from Goldsboro.

On Friday, Investigators with the Goldsboro Police Department secured Felony First Degree Murder Warrants for Corey Devon Sutton Jr., 17 and Terrance Lavon Forbes, 18.

On Saturday,  with the assistance of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Swat Team, authorities arrested Corey Devon Sutton Jr. without incident. Sutton was placed in the Wayne County Jail without bond. He will appear in court on Monday, October 19th.

Also on Saturday, around 10 a.m., Terrance Forbes was taken into custody. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail without bond. His first court appearance will be Monday at 1:30 p.m.
