SALISBURY, N.C. (WBTV) – A teenage girl in Rowan County has been arrested after investigators say she posted a picture of guns on her Facebook page with the caption “school finna be lit.”

According to deputies, 17-year-old Amber Beaver posted the picture with four firearms that were laid out on a table. The firearms appear to be a small pistol, a shotgun, a bolt action rifle, and a semi-automatic rifle.

Investigators began looking into the post Saturday when several students and teachers notified the East Rowan High School Resource Officer, Scott Flowers, about the picture.

According to investigators, Beaver dropped out of school last year, but had re-enrolled this year.

Investigators went to her home and met her father, who said he had not seen her in nearly a week and thought she was staying with an aunt.

Beaver was later found at a home in Spencer. Investigators talked to her on the phone where she told them she’d heard they were looking for her due to her Facebook post.

“Amber told investigators that it was just a joke and that she thought the post was funny,” according to the sheriff’s office.

She was arrested for communicating threats and making a false report of mass violence on an educational property. She is being held on a $7,500 secured bond.
