Woman forced into woods and sexually assaulted, Fayetteville Police say

FAYETEVILLE, NC (WNCN) — A woman in Fayetteville was sexually assaulted early Tuesday after she was forced into some woods.

On Tuesday around 4 a.m., detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Special Victims Unit were notified of a sexual assault that occurred in the area of Person Street and Eastern Blvd.

The investigation revealed the victim was walking along Person Street near Eastern Blvd when she was approached by the suspect.

“The suspect forced the victim into a nearby wooded area where he sexually assaulted her.  The suspect then left the area on foot,” Fayetteville Police said in a press release.

The suspect was described as a black male, 6’00”– 6’01”, medium build, wearing a black ‘hoodie’ and blue jeans.

Detectives with the Special Victims Unit of the Fayetteville Police Department are actively investigating the sexual assault.
