FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WNCN) — A man who claimed to have a gun robbed a gas station on Wednesday afternoon, Fayetteville Police say.
On Wednesday at approximately 12:56 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the Kangaroo located at 736 S. Reilly Road in reference to a report of a robbery.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a man entered the business and took items to the cash register as if to pay for them.
“The suspect then advised the employee he had a gun and demanded money from the cash register drawers,” police said in a press release.
The suspect was described as a black male, 5’09” to 5’10” tall, approximately 210 lbs, 35 to 40 years of age, bald head, with a small goatee, wearing all black clothing and blue shoes.
The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled in a black Chevrolet Trail Blazer, west on Cliffdale Road, police said.
Detectives have obtained images from video surveillance of the suspect and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect depicted in these images.
