SANFORD, N.C. (WNCN) – A 16-year-old wanted in the murder of a well-known party DJ has turned himself in to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Sheriff Tracy Carter, 16-year-old Taveun Dayquan Davis of Sanford turned himself into the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for the Sept. 23 murder of Marcus Laverne Murchison.

Davis is charged with robbing and murdering Murchison as well as attempting to shoot and kill Murchison’s girlfriend, Heather Shontell Lindsey, who was also present at the time.
Carter was being held without bond.
WNCN Investigates checked Davis’ criminal record and found he was arrested on May 30 and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and possession of a handgun by a minor.
