RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Two homes were destroyed in a Tuesday night in Wake County near the Durham County line.
According to Raleigh Police the call came in at 11:37 Tuesday night to 5309 and 5305 Golden Moss Trail in Raleigh.
Police said at one point, there was concern after a gas line ruptured in front of one of the homes. Neighbors on both sides were evacuated while firefighters worked to put out the flames.
Neighbors said the fire was fast moving and loud. Some worried it would spread to other homes.
“I thought it was going to take at least one more house with it, said Kyle Berner, neighbor. “I came out and that’s when the second house went up and I thought it was going to go to a third one. Eventually they had two ladder trucks here and were able to contain it,” Berner said.
No injuries were reported and the cause is unknown. Two families were displaced from their homes.
The road was blocked for hours.
