Motorcyclist dies after crash with car in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – A Spring Lake motorcyclist died after being hurt in a crash with a car Saturday afternoon in Fayetteville, police said.


The incident occurred just after 12:15 p.m. in the area of 1909 Pamalee Drive.

The motorcyclist was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with severe injuries.

Around 4:30 p.m., police said that the motorcyclist, Robert Gene Lacey, age 46, of the 100 block of Sue Street in Spring Lake, had died.

Traffic in the 1900 block of Pamalee Drive from Murchison Road toward Bragg Boulevard was reduced to one lane after the crash.
