CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – The 3-year-old girl who sustained brain injuries in a Lincoln County crash has died, family friends say.
Ginny and her sister Tori were traveling on Highway 321 to a pageant in Valdese with their mother when they crashed on Sept. 26. All three of them were rushed to the hospital after the crash, in critical condition.
Troopers say the SUV driven by Rebecca Walsh ran off the road into the median where it rolled several times before Walsh’s two children were ejected from the car.
Tori, 11, spent some time in the ICU, but is still facing rehab. She will need plastic surgery on her face.
A few days after the crash, their father told WBTV that Ginny was in critical condition with brain injuries and that the little girl suffered a stroke and series of seizures.
Troopers say the road was wet that morning, but they also claim the girls weren’t wearing seat belts.
A GoFundMe page has been set up.
