FOUR OAKS, N.C. (WNCN) – Five people were shot Sunday morning at a home in Four Oaks, a spokeswoman for the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded to a home in the 2300 block of Stricklands Crossroads Road in Four Oaks at around 3 a.m. in reference to a disturbance in a trailer home. When they arrived, it was determined that a shooting had occurred.
Five people were shot and two were in critical condition on Sunday, authorities said. Their conditions had improved to “stable” on Monday afternoon, officials say.
Neighbors say there was some type of gathering taking place before the shooting.
As of 2:40 p.m. Sunday, Johnson County Sheriff Deputies were still on the scene, along with forensic technicians.
Investigators have extended the crime scene at least three times as they look for any evidence to piece the crime together.
Three other people who were shot were taken to an area hospital and treated and released.
No one is in custody at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
