RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) – The Governor opened up the mansion Saturday afternoon for an event focused on helping cats and dogs find a good home.
It was called Adopt- A- Pet.
Organizers said it was intended to remind people of how full our local animal shelters are.
The event was held in memory of Ernest, a French bulldog who was rescued from a puppy mill in 2012.
“Through the work of all the people that you see here and the many volunteers and animal loving people across this state, we have a beautiful future for every one of them. There are homes out there for every single one of them,” a local animal advocate said.
And if you missed this event, you can always stop by your county’s animal center or local non for profit rescue group.
