ROCK HILL, S.C. (WBTV) – A man was arrested for leaving his children in a hot car while attending a job interview in Rock Hill Friday.

Officials say 33-year-old Marcus D’wayne Freeman left his two children, ages three and four, in a Hyundai Azera for more than an hour.

A witness called police around noon to report that two children were screaming and crying inside a car on Caldwell Street. An hour later, Freeman went back to the car.

Freeman told officers he was at Corestaff for a job interview and it went longer than expected. He was arrested and taken to the Rock Hill City Jail.

Freeman is charged with cruelty to children. The kids were released to their mother and the incident was reported to the Department of Social Services.
