CARY, N.C. (WNCN) – It’s only October, but that’s not stopping the Town of Cary from preparing now for possible winter weather this season.
During its annual Snow Rodeo Wednesday, Cary prepped snow trucks, spreaders, plows and employees for a future call to action.
Getting ready for more severe weather on the roads means maintenance and equipment checks, practicing response and communication efforts, and practicing on the roads.
“Our motto is practice like we play, so we’re dealing with a mock, three inch snow storm and we’re prepared for a three inch snow storm, today,” said Scott Hecht, Cary Public Works director.
About 240 employees participated in Wednesday’s rodeo to make sure that Cary is well equipped and prepared when the worst weather hits.
