HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A Gibsonton man was walking his dog Sunday when the two were attacked by a man with a machete. Around 7:45 p.m., the victim and his pit bull mix walked near the Richardson Street and Nundy Avenue intersection.
The dog’s owner became engaged in a verbal argument with Wilson Dorman, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Dorman, 57, went home and then returned with a machete, deputies said. The suspect then attacked both the dog and the owner, deputies added.
The owner suffered non-life-threatening lacerations to both his ear and his neck. The dog sustained a deep 6” laceration on his left side and a deep 3” laceration on its back.
Both the owner and dog received medical treatment. Deputies said the dog is expected to survive.
