Former Kenly police chief arrested on child sex crimes charges

KENLY, N.C. (WNCN) – The former chief of police in Kenly was arrested Friday and charged with sex crimes against children, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said.

David Mangum was charged with three counts indecent liberties with a child, two counts first-degree sex offense and sex offense parental role, the sheriff’s office said.

He is being held under $360,000 bond.
