The Dare County Narcotics Task Force made the arrests in late October during a traffic stop while investigating a complaint about drug activity in Buxton.

Isaiah Shaffer, 20, Justin Moore, 24, and Linda Deem, 42, all face charges of possessing mephedrone.

It’s a recreational drug commonly known as bath salts or zombie drug.

Police say there was also a child on the floorboard of the car when they were stopped on Oct. 20.

That led to child abuse charges against Moore and Deem, officials say.
