Municipal elections coming Tuesday across NC

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Election Day is Tuesday and there are a number of municipal elections across central North Carolina.

In Durham, there is a mayor’s race, with Bill Bell running for re-election and facing James Lyons, and three City Council seats up for grabs.

In Chapel Hill, voters will select a mayor, with incumbent Mark Kleinschmidt running against Pam Hemminger and Gary Kahn, and four council seats.

In Fayetteville, Mayor Nat Robertson is defending his seat against Val Applewhite.
Running for mayor in Apex are Lance Olive and Denise Clark Wilkie. They are looking to replace Bill Sutton, who was appointed to a vacant term.

In Raleigh, Dickie Thompson and Eddie Woodhouse are in a run-off for the City Council in District A.
