KNIGHTDALE, N.C. (WNCN) – A student at the Knightdale High School of Collaborative Design faces a misdemeanor charge Wednesday after bringing a weapon to campus.
Logan Jerry Fisher, 18, of Raleigh, was arrested after school administrators and the School Resource Officer received information that he had brought a weapon to school. Fisher was detained and a search of his vehicle yielded an airsoft pellet gun, a machete and two pocket knives.
Fisher did not specifically threaten any individual, but he authorities said he told several students that he had brought the weapons.
“Every citizen has a responsibility for taking ownership in maintaining a safe community and environment,” said Knightdale Police Chief Lawrence Capps. “Today, we saw young people doing just that. I am proud of the kids that came forward to report what they heard. Knightdale High School experienced a great deal of tragedy today [due to an unrelated auto accident]. We stand with the administrators, staff, and students in doing everything possible to provide a comfortable, caring, and nurturing school environment.”
