WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A Wilmington man was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to heroin and cocaine charges.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, Rangiloe Jolan Marshall, 40, pleaded guilty in New Hanover County Superior Court on Tuesday to trafficking heroin, possession with intent to sell cocaine, and misdemeanor child abuse.
Marshall was sentenced as a habitual felon to 6-8 years in prison.
Narcotics detectives with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on Sept. 25, 2014 at Marshall’s residence on South Lincoln Court.
During the course of the search, Marshall asked for a pair of jeans and when they were handed to him, a quantity of crack cocaine fell out them.
Narcotics officers searched Marshall’s bedroom and found 5 grams of heroin packaged for sale. He admitted to officers that the drugs were his.
Officials say a child was present during the search.
