Durham Police investigating early-morning fatal shooting

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – Durham Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday morning, police said.

The shooting happened in the 4600 block of Hope Valley Road. Police responded to the area just before 4:15 a.m. to a shots fired call. When they arrived on scene they found evidence of a shooting, but no victim.

Police contacted local-area hospitals and were able to locate a man that had been shot to death.

The victim has been identified as Santonio Rodriguez Rochelle, 33, of Durham.
