At a 10 a.m. news conference, officials from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were joined by other agencies to talk about the case and other ongoing homicide investigations in Indianapolis.

UPDATE: Arrest made in murder of Indiana pastor’s pregnant wife

“There’s a threat to justice everywhere,” IMPD Chief Rick Hite said.

Hite and other members of IMPD had a strong message for the public and for the criminals responsible for the ongoing crime in the city: they’re upset.

“The goal is to let criminals know, we own the neighborhoods,” IMPD Captain Lorenzo Lewis said.

In talking about a series of homicides in Indianapolis this year, including the cases of Dominique Allen, Nathan Trapuzzano, and Baby Janna, IMPD Major Eric Hench explained that the random homicides “shake us to our core.”

On Thursday, police had released very little information in the murder of Amanda Blackburn. At Friday’s news conference, officials confirmed they had a lead in the case.

“We know who killed her, we don’t know his name,” said IMPD Captain Craig Converse.

Blackburn’s death was Indianapolis’ 129th homicide of 2015.

“For those who killed Amanda, we are coming,” Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter said.

When talking about suspects, Chief Hite said “it could be multiple people.”

24-Hour News 8’s Julian Grace will have more about IMPD’s news conference on WISH-TV at noon.
