Tobacco Road tips off ACC basketball season Friday

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – It’s a big night in the state of North Carolina.

The Big Four are all in action Friday night to start the 2015-16 season. Three of those will play at home on Tobacco Road.

No. 1 North Carolina plays Temple at 7 p.m. in Annapolis, Maryland. The Heels will be televised on CBS Sports Network. The Tar Heels will play without star point guard Marcus Paige. He broke his hand during practice earlier in the month.

The Duke Blue Devils host Sienna at 7 p.m. in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The No. 5 Blue Devils can be seen on ESPNU.

N.C. State hosts William and Mary at 8 p.m. State looks to make their fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Wolfpack can be seen on ESPN3.

Wake Forest starts their season with University of Maryland-Baltimore County in Winston-Salem at 8 p.m. The Deacons are also on ESPN3.

Duke plays Bryant Saturday in Durham before a huge matchup with No. 2 Kentucky Tuesday.

The Tar Heels will more than likely be 5-0 when they host the No. 3 Marlyand Terrapins Dec. 1.

Also on Dec. 1, the Wolfpack plays their first game against a ranked opponent when No. 25 Michigan visits the PNC Arena.
