RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A Wake County detention officer has been suspended without pay after he was arrested following an incident involving two women.
Abderrahim Benbouida used his vehicle to block in a van being used by two women, Raleigh police said.
Benbouida then got out of his vehicle and beat on the windows of the van before leaving the area.
Police were called following the incident and given the license plate of the vehicle Benbouida was driving.
Police went to the address associated with that license plate and spoke with Benbouida.
Raleigh police said a scuffle broke out between officers and Benbouida before he was taken into custody.
Benbouida is charged with assault on a female, communicating threats, and resisting arrest.
Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison confirmed Benbouida is suspended without pay.
