Student sexually assaulted near NCSU campus, police say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A female North Carolina State University student was sexually assaulted late Friday night near campus, according to a crime alert sent by the school.

The incident is said to have occurred at approximately 11:56 p.m. at 3916 Greenleaf St. two blocks west of the McKimmon Center off of Gorman Street.

The sexual assault was reported to campus police by Raleigh Police at approximately 1:40 a.m. Saturday.

According to the student, a man over 6-feet in height and wearing a ski mask emerged from the bushes outside the residence and assaulted her as she was leaving. The suspect fled on foot east toward Gorman Street.

Police said they’re not sure if a weapon was used or not.
