CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) — The UNC Tar Heels have now won nine games in a row with a lopsided victory over Miami at home in Kenan Stadium on Saturday.
UNC, ranked 17 in the AP national poll, soundly defeated the Hurricanes 59-21.
For Carolina, its the first 7-0 home season in 35 years.
The game’s high score by the Tar Heels (9-1) is the second in a row.
With 66 points last week and 59 on Saturday, UNC hit a new school record for points in consecutive games with 125.
UNC QB Marquise Williams had another stellar performance with four total touchdowns.
Williams, of Charlotte, went 11 for 16 passing with 105 yards, one passing touchdown, along with 12 carries for 101 yards and three rushing touchdowns.
Miami (6-4) was down 44-0 and scored in the third quarter, along with two touchdowns in the final quarter.
Williams caught the attention of some early in the game after he rushed for a touchdown and made the Miami U-sign with his hands, but then flipped it upside down while touching his hips.
SBNation website said it was “the most disrespectful thing you can do with Miami’s hand sign.”
