RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston is donating thousands of turkeys to local nonprofit groups and military organizations as part of Turkeys for the Triangle.
Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston will donate 4,000 turkeys, 1,500 of which will be donated by Garner-based Butterball, to more than 60 local charities.
The turkeys will be distributed at two “turkey toss” events. The first was Wednesday morning. Volunteers handed out 2,500 turkeys. Volunteers will hand out 1,500 more turkeys at an event in December.
This year, Turkeys for the Triangle volunteers will handout turkeys to pre-selected organizations including the USO, Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and Raleigh Rescue Mission.
“We’re always happy to get any type of support, whether its monetary or food, but we love getting tangible food, said Lauren Landis, Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. “Its a great way to show that our community took the time to go out and purchase items we love. We’re so thankful for them.”
