RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – You can get a flu shot just about anywhere these days, including having one delivered right to your door.
On Thursday, ride-sharing service Uber offered flu shots through UberHEALTH from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
It’s part of a nation-wide event and was the first time the Trianlge has been included.
Uber users logging into the app had the choice to get a delivery of a $10 flu care pack, with the additional option of offering flu shotsfor up to 10 people.
The flu shots were delivered by an Uber driver along with a registered nurse from Passport Health Triangle that administered the shots.
“Flu season peaks in January. We’re in cold and flu season right now. There’s absolutely no excuse because we’re coming to your door,” said Melissa Wagers, executive director of Passport Health Triangle.
Taylor Bennett with Uber said, “We saw a great response throughout the day as people took advantage of this convenient way to outsmart the flu. We are grateful for the hardworking nurses who participated to deliver flu prevention kits all across the city.”
UberHEALTH brought flu shots to more than 35 cities across the U.S. Thursday.
