WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (WFLA) – A Lakeland man was arrested after police said he drove his car into a group of people in a bar parking lot according to Winter Haven police.
It happened at about 2 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Old Man Frank’s, located at 1005 Lake Howard Drive SW in Winter Haven.
Witnesses told police that some men were arguing by the bar.
The fight escalated and turned physical when the bar security broke it up.
Buddy Bailey, 31, got into his 2006 Chrysler 300 and drove directly into a group of people in the parking lot, according to WHPD.
He hit Eric Robinson, 27, Kesuan Edwards, 27, and Dion Ferguson, 36, police said.
Bailey left the scene.
The three men were taken to Winter Haven Hospital Emergency Room to be evaluated. They all sustained minor injuries and were later released from the hospital.
Police officers talked to the witnesses who knew Bailey. Officers identified and located Bailey Saturday in the early afternoon at his home in Lakeland. Bailey said he had been at the bar on Friday but didn’t tell investigators about anything else.
Bailey was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated battery with motor vehicle and one count each of leaving the scene of crash involving injury and other charges.
He was booked into the Polk County Jail.
