The fire broke out around 5:20 p.m. in the 6900 block of Electra Drive, which is about five blocks from Cary Academy.

Video shot during the height of the fire showed flames shooting from the roof of the house.

The interior of the home was destroyed and damage was visible from outside.

The fire chief told WNCN that there was “a massive amount of stuff in the house” that made it difficult to put the fire out.

By 6:30 p.m. the fire was under control.  No one was injured during the fire.
