BEAUFORT, N.C. (WNCT) – Deputies say they’ve wrapped up “Operation Who’s Next.”
The operation began in early August, when Carteret County Sheriff Asa Buck, Morehead City Police Chief Bernette Morris and District Attorney Scott Thomas announced the joint undercover drug operation targeting illegal drug sales in Carteret County.
Through 13 rounds, 124 suspects have been charged with a total of 605 felonies and 65 misdemeanors, officials say.
As of Tuesday, 104 suspects have been arrested with four of those being arrested in multiple rounds. Eighteen suspects remain wanted by local law enforcement for narcotics charges related to the operation.
The Carteret County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in providing any information that will assist local law enforcement in the arrest of the remaining suspects.
If you know the whereabouts of those still wanted individuals, contact the local law enforcement agency that serves your area.
During the investigation, two suspects died prior to being served with warrants, officials say.
