FORT BRAGG, N.C. (WNCN) – For soldiers overseas and their families back home, the Thanksgiving holiday can be a bit lonely.
In an effort to make sure soldiers and their families have a Thanksgiving feast, Fort Bragg will provide hundreds of meals at 12 of its dining facilities.
The meals will be served Tuesday, Nov. 24 through Thursday, Nov. 26.
Fort Bragg will prepare more than 4,700 pounds of turkey, about 2,600 pounds of ham, 3,000 pies as well as vegetables, cornbread and dinner rolls.
Last year, more than 7,800 Thanksgiving meals were prepared.
