FARMVILLE, N.C. (AP) — A 14-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car in Pitt County.
North Carolina State Highway Trooper Adrian Bowen tells local media outlets that the teen died Sunday evening after being hit by a car in Pitt County at around 6 p.m. Authorities identified the boy as DeShawn O’Neal, WNCT reported.
Bowen says a car was traveling west into Farmville, along highway 264 near Brooks Drive, when a pedestrian tried to cross the street. He was hit by the car and pronounced dead later at a hospital.
