Chinese Beef and Broccoli for the Slow Cooker
Just pile the ingredients into and let the slow cooker do all the work.
2 pounds boneless, Food Lion beef chuck roast, sliced into thin strips
1 cup Food Lion beef broth
½ cup Food Lion soy sauce
½ cup Food Lion light brown sugar, packed
1 tbsp. sesame oil (offer an alternative for this)
3 tbs Nature’s Place minced garlic
2” piece fresh ginger, peeled and minced
3 tablespoons Food Lion cornstarch
2 cups fresh organic broccoli florets
1 bunch green onions, trimmed and chopped
Whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic and ginger. Pour into slow cooker then pile in the beef and toss to coat.
Turn crockpot on high and cook for 4 hours. Whisk together the cornstarch and ¼ cup cold water. Add that and the broccoli to the beef and continue cooking for an additional hour. Toss in green onions and serve over brown or white rice.
