NC congressman hacks at $1.1 trillion budget with sword

WASHINGTON (WNCN) – A North Carolina congressman literally took a sword to the proposed $1.1 trillion budget he voted against.

Rep. Walter Jones wrote, “Spent last night cutting through 2,000 pages of words, words, words,” along with a photo of him swinging a sword at the document.

He also tweet a photo of him wearing a surgical mask with the caption “Something is rotten in t̶h̶e̶ ̶s̶t̶a̶t̶e̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶D̶e̶n̶m̶a̶r̶k̶ Washington, DC.”

Jones voted against the bill that was created to avoid a government shutdown and funds the government through 2016.

The bill passed the House by a 316-113 vote and the Senate by a 65-33 vote
