DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – A DWI checkpoint set up in Durham Friday night and Saturday morning resulted in 15 arrests.
The Durham Police Department held a “Booze It & Lose It” checkpoint on University Drive at Forest Hills Boulevard.
During the time the checkpoint was set up, officers made 10 DWI arrests and five drug arrests. There were six other criminal charges, one speeding charge, 11 charges for driving while license revoked, 11 charges for no operator’s license and 19 other traffic charges.
Participating in the checkpoint were 22 officers from the Durham Police Department, Durham County Sheriff’s Office, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Hillsborough Police Department, North Carolina Central University Police Department, and North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement.
