DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) –Two men were shot in Durham Wednesday evening and one of the two men later died, police said.
The homicide happened Wednesday evening in the 100 block of Commerce Street.
Police later identified the man who died as Jakeba Keshawn Henry, 25, of Durham.
Officers first responded to a shooting call at 6:17 p.m. near the intersection of Grace Lane and Liberty Street.
“When they arrived, they found an adult male who had been shot in the leg. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening,” said Kammie Michael, Durham Police spokeswoman.
A short time later, officers found a second male who had been shot on Commerce Street, Michael said.
“He was taken to the hospital, where he died,” Michael said.
The two victims were together when the shooting occurred on Commerce Street, police said.
No charges have been filed and no further information is available at this time.
