MORRISVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – Almost 30,000 people are expected to pass through Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Wednesday, one of the busiest travel days of the year.
The lines were long beginning at 5 a.m. and hundreds of people were waiting at ticket counters and the security gate to catch early morning flights.
“I didn’t think it was going to be this busy,” said Rachel Glasser, traveler. “I thought it was going to be busier tomorrow, maybe we should have planned better.”
The bulk of crowds at RDU were early Wednesday morning.
“I wasn’t expecting this line this early, obviously,” said Maddie Janderain, traveler.
The lines didn’t last, but RDU says don’t bank on sailing through. The airport recommends arriving at least two hours before your flight is scheduled to depart.
