FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — In the third shooting of someone in a vehicle in less than 24 hours, a son was hit by gunfire while in a car driven by his father on Saturday evening, Fayetteville Police say.
The incident happened at approximately 6:20 p.m. along Walker Street near Kellam Circle, Fayetteville Police said.
Early Saturday morning, three people were hurt in two separate shootings into vehicles, police said.
In the incident Saturday evening, police said that Thomas Pullen Jr., age 47, of the 700 block of Platinum Street, was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by his father, Thomas Pullen Sr., on Walker Street near Kellam Circle.
“The Pullens claimed to have heard two shots, fired by an unknown suspect, as they drove along Walker Street. Thomas Pullen Jr. then realized he had been struck in the shoulder by a bullet,” police said in a press release.
Thomas Pullen Jr. sustained a non-life threatening wound to his shoulder. Thomas Pullen Sr. was not injured.
Detectives are currently investigating this shooting.
