2 babies born to the same family on Christmas, thousands of miles apart

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Having a baby on Christmas is a gift in itself, but this holiday season, one family received two little miracles just hours apart and thousands of miles away.

It’s a crazy coincidence.

Dani and Eric Heimermann in Colorado Springs had their baby just a few hours apart from Eric’s sister and her husband in Cincinnati on Christmas Day.

“It’s just pure chance. It was just crazy,” Dani said.

They weren’t supposed to have little Aria for another two weeks, so it was a bit of a shock when Dani started having contractions.

But it was even weirder when Eric’s sister Ashley also started to go into labor, thousands of miles away.

“It was weird. We both kind of had the same, almost the same, length of labor and we both kind of stalled out at a certain point,” Eric’s sister, Ashley Weaver said.

But at 3:50PM on Christmas Day, Aria Heimermann came into the world.

“My sister always gives me crap for doing everything before her,” Eric said. “We never thought I was going to get married because I’m kind of a loner, but then I met Dani and got married before she did and she got mad about that. Then we had our first baby before she did and now we had our second baby before she had her first and she’s really mad! She’s not actually mad but still it’s kind of a running joke.”

“I was honestly kind of jealous because I was like, ‘I can’t believe this! She’s going to have her baby before me and she’s literally due a month after me like what in the world,’” Ashley said.

But just 4 hours after Aria was born, Primrose Weaver made her debut.

“I was like, ‘this is insane!’’ Ashley said. “They’re cousins and we’re in the same family and everyone was just crying and so excited.”

It’s awesome. It’s really cool that we kind of get to share that and it’s also on Christmas which is nuts,” Eric said.

“I love my sister-in-law, both my sister in laws, incredibly much,” Dani said. “They’re great people and I’ve grown really close to them and the fact that we are sharing this now is just amazing.”

“It was just a rare, crazy God-thing. I’m really excited to see the plans He has for our family and these 2 girls because it’s just it’s too weird,” Ashley said.

“We’re praising God that he was involved in this,” Eric and Ashley’s mom Cindy Hestla said. “We were really, really praying that the Lord would oversee it and bring the babies out safely and he did. It was great.”

On top of having the same birthday, the family says the little cousins also have similar personalities.

They say Aria and Primrose are both very calm, quiet babies and are the best Christmas gifts they could ever ask for.
