ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WIS) – The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office says the body of a 38-year-old woman missing since Christmas has been found and one man has been charged with her murder.
Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said the body of Loretta Bunch was recovered from a local waterway. Ravenell did not specify in which waterway Bunch’s body was found.
“We developed information that led us to a location about five miles south of Holly Hill and off of Highway 453 where we did, in fact, recover a body,” Ravenell said in a statement.
Ravenell went on to say Harold Pratt, 45, has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a crime. Pratt was being questioned by the sheriff’s office before he was charged with Bunch’s murder.
Bunch was reported missing on Sunday after she hadn’t been seen since Christmas Day.
The two, according to the sheriff’s office, had been involved in some sort of dispute and relationship before Bunch disappeared.
The investigation into this case is ongoing.
