Weather a possible factor in deadly Durham crash, troopers say

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A man died in a crash in Durham on Wednesday morning – and officials say that weather could be a factor in the crash.

The wreck happened around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday on Range Road in Durham, the NC Highway Patrol said.

A man was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck and was traveling south on Range Road when he lost control and hit some trees, troopers said.

Paul Nathan Budd, age 49, died at the scene of the crash.

Budd, who was alone in the truck, was not wearing a seatbelt, troopers said.
