CARY, N.C. (WNCN) – A Cary man kept his dead mother’s body on ice for almost a week before killing his girlfriend, search warrants show.
On Dec. 20, 34-year-old Brandon Lee called police, claiming he had killed his mother and his girlfriend, police said.
Police believe Brandon Lee killed his mother Dec. 14 and then killed his girlfriend Dec. 19.
Police confirmed the deaths of 58-year-old Christa Lee and 28-year-old Krystal Juell Hylton. Lee was charged with two counts of murder in their deaths.
After Brandon Lee reported his actions to police, two officers went to the apartment Brandon Lee shared with his mother at Legacy at Crossroads Apartment Complex on Havers Drive.
Brandon Lee told police he left his mother in the bathroom. The officers found the door to a bathroom locked.
After forcing their way in, the officers found the body of Christa Lee on her side in the tub with fresh ice on and around her, warrants show.
During his confession to authorities, Brandon Lee expressed concern for the well being of his dog which was still at his apartment. He told authorities he had gone back to his apartment after he killed his mother to feed his dog.
Lee appeared in court in late December and was given no bond in an appearance that lasted less than two minutes.
His next scheduled court date is Jan. 11, and he’ll have a court-appointed attorney.
