LOS ANGELES – Ricky Gervais will host the Golden Globes again on Sunday when the Hollywood Foreign Press Association event returns to NBC.
Gervais also hosted the ceremony between 2010 and 2012. He appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday to look ahead to Sunday night.
The show will be at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and televised on WNCN.
“We’re excited to have Ricky Gervais back to host the most enjoyable awards show of the season in his own inimitable way,” NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a statement. “Disarming and surprising, Ricky is ready to honor — and send up — the best work of the year in film and television.”
The show will also include a return to Hollywood by Mel Gibson. Gibson will present an award.
Gervais is known for his biting sense of humor and has been a big hit with audiences in the past.
The nominations include some top Hollywood stars, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Will Smith in the Best Performance by an Actor category.
