RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Raleigh Police are looking for a man who tried unsuccessfully to rob three stores in a short time on Tuesday evening.

Police said that “during a brief period just before and just after 6 p.m.” the man went into three businesses.

Once inside, he approached a worker of each store and implied he was armed and attempted to rob the stores, police said, adding that none of the attempts was successful.

In a surveillance image from Raleigh police, the man appears to be holding something in his hooded-jacket pocket and pointing it at a possible worker.

After the Plato’s Closet attempt, the suspect was seen fleeing into nearby woods, according to police.
