KNIGHTDALE, N.C. (WNCN) — Seven people were displaced from a home in Knightdale after the house was heavily damaged by fire on Wednesday morning.
The incident was reported at 10 a.m. at 102 Brookfield Drive in Knightdale, fire officials said.
“On arrival crews found a two story home with heavy fire on the second floor and coming from the roof. The home had significant damage in excess of $100,000,” said Brian Bowman, of the City of Knightdale.
Two pets were saved by firefighters.
Firefighters remained on scene for over four hours, Bowman said.
The cause of the fire is improperly discarded smoking materials, according to Bowman.
