Masked NC bank robber in ‘dark hoodie’ grabs cash, Butner Police say

BUTNER, N.C. (WNCN) — Police in a Granville County town say that a bank was robbed on Tuesday afternoon.

The robbery was reported at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday at SunTrust Bank located at 301 Central Avenue in Butner, police said.

The suspect approached a teller and demanded money.  The suspect grabbed an amount of cash, exited the bank and got into a dark Honda Accord type vehicle and drove away towards Interstate 85, Butner Police said.

No weapon was seen but was the man implied he had one, police said.

Police described the suspect as a small framed, light skinned black male wearing blue jeans, a dark hoodie, and white and blue athletic shoes.

No one was injured during the incident.
