Mecklenburg Co. Virginia schools delayed Wednesday because of cold

BOYDTON, Va. (WNCN) — Schools in Mecklenburg County, Va. are being delayed on Wednesday morning because of extreme cold weather, the school system announced Tuesday night.

Here is the announcement from the school system:

Mecklenburg County Public Schools will have a delayed opening on Wednesday due to extremely cold temperatures. All schools will begin at 10 a.m.

This means that students who attend Chase City Elementary and LaCrosse Elementary will have an hour and forty-five minute delay and students attending South Hill Elementary, Clarksville Elementary, Bluestone Middle, Bluestone High, Park View Middle, and Park View High will have an one-hour delay.

Attention Governor’s school and Lake Country Advanced Knowledge Center students: You may report to the Governor’s school or the Lake Country Advanced Knowledge Center today if you are able to do so. Again, the Governor’s school and Lake Country Advanced Knowledge Center buses will be available for the designated pickup.

All 12-month employees will report on time. All other staff will report at 9 a.m. Breakfast for students will be served.
