SALISBURY, N.C. (WBTV) – A missing teen’s body was found in a vehicle in Salisbury Monday night, prompting a homicide investigation, officials say.
A person of interest has been identified by police and Tuesday evening a man was charged in the murder.
The body of 19-year-old Talisha Danielle Crowder, who was reported missing by her mother earlier that day, was found in a 1991 Honda Accord in an apartment parking lot around 7 p.m.
The parking lot is on N. Long Street near Park Avenue. Police say Crowder had been shot to death and that the Honda belonged to someone else.
Officials are investigating Crowder’s death as a homicide and do not believe the killing was a random act of violence.
Crowder graduated last summer from the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College with an associate’s degree on arts, according to RCCC. She was taking classes at Pfeiffer University.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Salisbury Police Department at 704-638-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
