APEX, N.C. (WNCN) – Apex police are now offering a safe place to exchanges items bought or sold online.
The Department has two parking spots set aside in its parking lot that are intended to be safe zones for internet exchanges.
The spaces are marked and under 24-hour surveillance.
“We wanted to just establish a place where people could come and feel safe and not have to provide their home information. A lot people don’t want people coming to their house or their work place or just meeting in a random parking lot somewhere,” said Cpt. Ann Stephens.
Apex police said surveillance video of the spaces goes directly to the communications center where it is monitored around the clock.
Officers are also always coming and going from the building, police said.
