VIDEO: Erosion eats away California cliff, prompts state of emergency

PACIFICA, Calif. (NBC NEWS) – Wet El Nino weather has caused dangerous cliff erosion along the California coastline, prompting a state of emergency.

New drone video posted to YouTube by Duncan Sinfield gives a unique look at just how dangerous the situation has become.

The failing bluffs along the Pacifica shoreline led city officials to declare three apartment buildings uninhabitable.

Significant storm damage in the city over the last several weeks led the city manager to declare a state of emergency Friday.
