GARNER, N.C. (WNCN) – North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly three vehicle crash on White Oak Road near Garner Monday evening.
The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. Monday on White Oak Road near Interstate 40.
Lt. Jeff Gordon with the N.C. High Way Patrol said one person was killed in the crash.
A preliminary investigation showed Henry Munday, 79, was traveling north on White Oak Road when he traveled left of center and side-swiped a vehicle traveling south. After Munday side-swipped 54-year-old Philip Lawler’s vehicle, the then struck a third vehicle head-on.
Highway Patrol said the driver of the third vehicle, 31-year-old Christopher Wright of Garner, was killed in the crash.
Munday was taken to WakeMed with non-life threatening injuries. Lawler was not injured in the crash.
Troopers do not believe alcohol was a factor in this case, however charges are pending.
